session details, tips, and answers
It's best to schedule your engagement session 6–8+ months before your wedding, especially if you're wanting to use your phots as Save The Dates. Each season offers a unique backdrop for gorgeous photos – even winter! The session's time of day will depend on the season and location and will be finalized at booking.
If we didn't schedule your session when you booked, please reach out to me via email to schedule!

There are countless landmarks, buildings, parks, and more around Lubbock that can accommodate your engagement session. I highly recommend picking a spot that's special to you and your fiancé. Over the years, I've been to dozens of locations with couples. Select 'next' to view my top engagement sessions locations.
Mackenzie Park has fields of tall grass, trees, cacti, and prairie dogs! There's lot of beautiful old trees, small trails beside the creek and it looks beautiful in every season! There is no entry fee for Mackenzie Park.
No matter the season, Buffalo Springs' grounds are stunning! There are rolling hills, overlooks, tall grass, and of course - the lake! There is a fee for entry into the park, but the views are worth it.
Palo Duro kind of speaks for itself. Beautiful overlooks, red rocks, the canyon, the caves! There is a fee for entry into the park at $8.00 per person. This location is about 1.5 hours away from Lubbock.
Downtown Lubbock is so full of fun yet classic locations! It is home to brick lined streets, the Buddy Holly Hall and fun alleyways that make for a delightfully urban session!
We have so many beautiful National and State parks around us here in Lubbock! They are always an option if you'd like to explore your surroundings for your engagement session.
The perfect spot away from all the hustle and bustle of the city! Lakes, trails, somewhat green grass (hah!)
A hidden gem just outside of Lubbock, and it comes complete with a waterfall! Don't get much of those in West Texas.
These are always my safe/go-to locations! Everything is always so well maintained and taken care of. Tech Campus has a lot of variety, while the Arboretum is just so pretty with flowers and plants!

Picking your outfit color palette and planning your outfits for your engagement session is the first (and most important) step in creating gorgeous photos! While you should consider the weather, it's best to be comfortable and confident in what you wear. I've collected some do's and don'ts for picking out your outfit, along with some outfit inspiration from previous couples.

take advantage of a hair/makeup trial
get a manicure for close-up shots

Pampering yourself is always a great idea, right?! Although not necessary, there are a few to-dos that will elevate your engagement photos:
trust me as your expert photographer
relax, have fun, and just be you
There's absolutely no reason to worry about your session. I like to look at your session as a way to get to know each other and have some fun! As you approach your session, keep in mind these 2 things:
04.
I deliver the final gallery anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks after our shoot date! I will send you an accurate delivery date along with your sneak peeks the day after our session.
06. when can we expect to receive our final gallery?
I love to deliver all the good ones! This can range anywhere from 100-200, but always a minimum of 100.
05. how many photos can we expect to get back?
I got you! I use prompts versus traditional posing so we get natural smiles and you feel less anxious. I am naturally shy, too, so keep in mine that you've got a friend in me!
04. i'm shy! please help.
Sure! If you're having second thoughts, just shoot me a text and I can help with styling.
03. can you help us pick our outfits?
I always highly suggest it! We'll both get a feel for what we're comfortable with. Plus, you'll have a leg up on my prompts and poses before the big day!
02. do we need to do an engagement session?
Absolutely not! I love shooting in new places - let me know your vision and we can plan accordingly!
01.Do we have to use one of your suggested locations?
Have a question about your engagement session? I've got an answer! And if you don't see your question here, please reach out via email.
